PacMan Fever


The PacMan Fever Album was a hit in the early 80's by Buckner and Garcia.

The album included :

  • PacMan Fever
  • Froggy's Lament
  • Ode to a Centipede,
  • Do the Donkey Kong
  • Hyperspace
  • The Defender
  • Mousetrap
  • Goin' Beserk

    IMHO, PacMan Fever is brilliant and is the best of these songs, and is a real groovy, rock'n'roll, yellow circular dude, ghost avoiding, dot eatin' tune with appropriate lyrics and sound effects sampled from a real PacMan machine !!

    Space Invaders


    Space Invaders was also hit in the early 80's by Player One.

    This song also featured a real catchy sound track and lyrics and had sound effects sampled from a real Space Invaders machine !!!

    Computer Games


    Computer Games was a monster smash hit in the early 80's by the New Zealand band Mi-Sex.

    This great song appeared on Mi-Sex's Graffiti Crimes CD, and on one of the seven 80's compilation CDs titled "Richard Blade's Flashback Favorites".

    This song also featured a real catchy sound track and lyrics and had sound effects sampled from a real several (which ??) arcade machines !!!

    Atari Missile Command


    This album has got some unbelievably tacky songs based on the Missile Command storyline. For example, lyrics like : "We are Zordon Commanders and we will defend you" ... is one of the anthems. It's hysterical !!

    The songs include :

  • Atari Theme
  • Missile Command
  • Mission Briefing / Missile Command Plot
  • Missile Command Plot, part II
  • Zordon Commanders
  • Atari Theme (reprise) [doesn't exist on tape]

    The Missile Command song is a real cracker - one of my favourite "arcade" songs - check this out if you haven't already !! ;)

    This song is by Weird Al Yankovic.

    It is a parody of the Beatles Tax Man song, and was never publicly released.

    Breakdance-era tunes


    According to : Bryan Bergman, there are alot of Breakdance-era tunes about games etc. "Joystick" by the Dazz Band or "I'm The Pacman (Catch me if you can)" by ??.
